Specialist Clinics
As midwives we appreciate the role of specialists in maternity care. If a consultant review is needed, we have a team of specialists who visit our rooms on a regular basis. Both obstetric (during pregnancy) and paediatric (for baby) specialist appointments are free of charge* on referral from your Maternity Associates Midwife. *Conditions : Must be over 16 weeks pregnant and registered with a Lead Maternity Carer. Must hold NZ Residency
Babies must be under 6 weeks old.
If these criteria are not met there is the option of paying a fee to attend the clinic.

Acupuncturist
Lynda Wharton (BA, ND, Dip Ac, MNZRA)
Lynda Wharton has been at the forefront of holistic therapies in New Zealand for twenty five years. She is both a Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist (member of the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists) and a naturopath, specializing in the holistic treatment of women’s health problems.
Lynda is also a prolific writer and public speaker, and is the author of three holistic woman’s health books, including her most recent book, “Wellbeing” published by Harper Collins. As a health writer she has been a columnist and freelance writer for numerous publications in New Zealand and Australia.

Guy Bloomfield Paediatrician
I’m a paediatrician with a special interest in babes (neonatology).
I trained at Auckland University and have mostly worked in Auckland. I currently work in the neonatal intensive care unit at Middlemore hospital and in private practise on the North Shore.
I love my job and feel privileged to be able to contribute to the care of babies, children and their families.
